Holy, Holy, Holy!

The phrase “Holy, Holy, Holy” is the Hebrew equivalent superlative to “Holiest!”
~ Creation was “good” (Gen 1:25)
~ Mankind was “very good” - literally “good, good” (Gen 1:31)
~ Even in our language we typically only use 3 divisions of degrees, e.g. Good, Better, Best
~ The number 3 holds a very special concept of “divine” (i.e. the Trinity).
~ It denotes just how separate, how utterly different is the nature of the Holy One

Many things may be called “Holy” ...
~ 7th day (Gen 2:3) ~ Assemblies (Ex 12:16) ~ Nation of Israel (Ex 19:6)
~ Feasts (Lev 23:2) ~ Priestly Garments (Ex 28:2) ~ Sacrifices/Altar (Exo 29:37)
~ Oil/Incense (Ex 30:31-32) ~ Place in Temple (Ex 26:33) ~ Offerings/Gifts (Lev 27:28)
~ Nazirite (Num 6:8) ~ Ground (Ex 3:5, Josh 5:15) ~ City (Neh 11:1)
~ Angels (Mark 8:38) ~ Prophets/Apostles (Eph 3:5) ~ Law (Rom 7:12)
~ Kiss (Rom 16:16) ~ Hands (I Tim 2:8)

A “holy” man may be “Holy, Holy”, but only the LORD is “Holy, Holy, Holy”
(“Why do you call me Good? No one is good except God alone” ~ Mark 10:18)

If God says something about his character once, that's enough to settle it. When he says it twice, that's emphasis. But when he says it three times, that means it's of supreme importance. "Holy" is the only attribute of God that is repeated in this way.
